Boyfriend explains Warframe

What I Think it is Before Explanation:

I know very little about this game but the basics seem to be that you play as a "Warframe", which seems

like a robot body suit. There are many types of warframes and each has different abilities. You can go on many

missions alone or with other players in the game. I do not know the goal of these missions but I know they can

be completed or failed. I believe there is also a story element to the game, which I am also unaware of.

Boyfriend Explaining:

He started by explaining the basics. Apparently, the Warframe is the “body” and the person is the “soul”. The

person controlling the warframe is on a completely different planet that you go retrieve later in the game and bring

back to your ship where you live. Each warframe has four abilities and a passive ability but some abilities can do

different things based on how you press or hold the button. The passive ability always does the same thing and you

don't have to click a button to trigger it, so it's like a boost of sorts. You can also get mods that enhance your

warframes, weapons, pets, etc. Everything has eight slots for mods and all mods are percentage-based. The rarity

of the mod and or the helpfulness determines the prices. All warframes have health and shields (except one). Shield

always regenerates but health only regenerates from picking it up from dead enemies or if a teammate heals you.

Most warframes also have prime versions, pretty much better in every way. The primes are generally traded by

other players.

Next is the missions. Warframes are pretty much “one-man armies”, so they can go on many different types of

missions. Every warframe can do every type of mission but some are better at certain ones than others. Missions

have a big range from taking out everyone in a certain place, defending a place, a hit mission, collecting an artifact,

etc. The missions take place in three main factions (types of enemies). First, Grineer, they are not very strong but

there are hundreds of them. Some are called tube men because they are grown in tubes to just be throw-away

soldiers. A lot of their machines look old and beaten up with rounded edges. Their guns shoot spikes??? They yell

a lot and are offensive. Then Corpus, they want money. They are robots, and a few people, and are a private army.

They are characterized by very sharp edges and anything efficient. They set lots of traps. A lot of them want to take

apart warframes, make them better, and resell them. Lastly, Infested, they feed off the Grineer. They infect things

and then make those things infect others. They use swarm tactics, so many that it is very difficult to fight them. No

matter how many you defeat they will keep coming back unless you fully wipe them out which is extremely

difficult.

Lastly is the story. Even he’s iffy on the story. Warframes are also called Tenno. Tenno are people in pods on

the moon, that's in a different dimension, who are controlling the warframes. They do not know they are in the

pods; they believe they are the warframe. Everything you do in the game a character named Lotus is telling you to

do. She is part of a really old race that no longer exists because the warframes killed all of them, except her, but

they do not remember doing so. But eventually it is discovered that one other one is alive, the Lotus’s father.

There's one warframe called the stalker, he was like a body guard to that old race, and for some reason was not a

part of wiping the race with the other warframes. Because of that he holds a grudge against all other warframes and

wants them dead. And somehow the father and stalker meet, they go to the other dimension where the moon with

the tenno is. In order for the Lotus to save all the tenno she has to pull the moon out of that dimension and put it

back in its original place next to earth. The player then uses their warframe to find their real body, tenno, now that

it's back in their dimension. The warframe bridal carries the tenno back to their ship and on the way back the stalker

confronts the player. Because the warframe is holding the tenno it cannot fight very well but before the stalker can

kill the player the Lotus takes control of the warframe. The Lotus then defeats the stalker and her father, but doesn't

kill them. The tenno stays in a room in the Warframes ship where it's safe because the stalker cannot go there.

Because they are now in the same dimension the tenno can now teleport into the warframe at will and also has

some other abilities.

Final Understanding and Review:

This game is interesting. Trying to learn the story was difficult, I got lost many times so for that I give the

story a 6/10. However, from what I’ve seen him play it looks fun so 8/10. Overall I’ll give the game a 7/10

because they need to get the story together before I cry while attempting to understand it.
